Trip to Arlington Virginia / Washington DC

White House
Me in front of the White House.

Back of the White House - they had added security today so some of the streets around the White House were blocked and there were 2 men on the roof of the white house with guns.

I was trying to get a good picture of the garden on the backside of the White House. Not sure if you can tell or not. . . . .

Washington Monument

Eisenhower Executive Office Building

Department of Veterans Affairs Building - this was on the side and I thought it was good.

Andrew Jackson Monument

This is a hotel - thought it looked pretty interesting.
We had a pretty busy week this week - put in about 60 hours at the Employment Center. Saturday we had a Career Workshop for Professionals. We got home from that about 5:00 and decided to go to Arlington as Elder and Sister Kigin were giving their report in their Ward this Sunday and we wanted to attend that meeting. We arrived around 10 pm. Their meeting was at 9:00 this morning. Elder and Sister Kigin were surprised to see us so that was fun! They gave really good and inspiring talks. We feel very blessed to have been able to work with them and get to know them. It was fun to see some of their children again and meet more. After Sacrament meeting we went into Washington DC and saw a couple sites before heading home. All I had with me was my iphone to take the pictures with. We think we will try to make this trip again when we have more time.

Happy Birthday, Jacksen

We are so very grateful for the knowledge that Jacksen is a part of our Eternal Family and know that the time will come when once again we will feel his warm embrace.
We love and miss you Jacksen.

New York City here we come!

Sunny is such a cutie - it was so fun to get to spend some time with her!

Had to make the trip out to the "Cake Boss" place. We purchased some pretty amazing treats and Tiffanni was able to get a signed apron for Josh.

Then Sunday night - we were off to pick up Taryn - but to our Surprise there was Tony, Mary, Kylie, Sunny and Jake with Taryn!! What a great surprise! We were so excited have everyone here.

March 29th - we were fortunate to have some visitors arrive. Tiffanni and Ariana arrived early Sunday morning. We picked them up - and then off to church. We meet in the building that is connected to the Temple.

Steven Wood's Retirement Party

The manager of the Employment Center, Steven Wood, retired and we had a party for him on March 26th. It was a great evening - Steve has served as Manager of the New York Employment Center and is a dedicated Scouter. We are grateful for the opportunity to get to know and learn from him. His famous cheers and whistle will be missed!
