We are getting better at riding the subway - and getting around the city. The weather has warmed up some - so maybe Spring is on its way! I think maybe Sundays are the hardest for us as we really miss being around everyone - and our Sunday dinners. However, we are especially grateful for Skype so it doesn't seem that we are so far away from our family. And we do enjoy going to the YSA ward - it is amazing how talented and knowledgeable they all are about the Gospel teachings. We learn alot from them.

This statue of Joseph Smith is in the parking area of the Harlem building - it is a pretty neat statue. I think they said it was out at Staten Island - but someone defaced the printing on the front so the Church moved it.

Here we are --- at the Employment Center.

New Years Day

Elder and Sister Kigin are the Scout Masters for the Harlem 2nd Ward --- they are Super Scouters!!
So on New Years day (our P-Day) we went with them around the area looking for good places to take the scouts on hikes. We had a great day - went to serveral parks -- and beaches. We didn't realize that there was anything here but city!

This is around a pond that is frozen over. There are serveral places where there are these red ladders. The sign says (besides the Danger - Thin Ice) "Ice rescue ladder. Do not remove or damage. This equipment may save someone's life." Thinking maybe we need to put one of them up at Priest Lake! :)

Elder and Sister Ashton --- just above the beach area.

Looking out towards the beach and water. Sister Kigin says
that is is okay for the Sr. couple missionaries to swim -- but I'm
thinking I would scare everyone off the beach!
